Like communities all over the world, the La Mesa HOA Board is considering how to handle short term rentals. There are a wide variety of services being offered and different terms, such as vacation rentals, Bed and Breakfast (B&B), and Airbnb (actually the name of a particular company, one of several companies offering web-based short term rental bookings).
At the June 19, 2018 HOA Board meeting, the Board approved an addition to the ACC Supplemental Rules that prohibits short term rentals. “… Property rentals or subleases shorter than three months are not allowed; longer leases are permitted, provided the entire property is leased. …”
Before proposing changes regarding short term rentals to the CC&Rs, the Board wants to get a better sense of what policy La Mesa property owners want, which is the reason for this survey.
